"Does the UK have an easy way out of this mess?"
Well perhaps not very easy, but simple, straightforward and quick ... yes. Here's how: Confess the truth and take the medicine. The UK and Europe are "vassal" states of the Neocon-controlled US. The Neocons have an incandescent hatred of and passionate commitment to the destruction Russia that dates back a thousand years. Having taken over the US and installed the Wolfowitz Doctrine as the centerpiece of US foreign policy, the Neocons employ the power of the US, instrumentalized by NATO -- ie all of Europe -- as the military instrument to destroy Russia. But the Neocon's blind hatred has deprived them of rationality and miscalculated Russia's ability to defend itself, and more importantly, Russia's ability to **RETALIATE** against the attack. So when the Neocons refused to recognize Russia's legitimate security concerns, overthrew the Russia-friendly government of Ukraine, bulked up their military capability with the help of NATO, and sought to advance NATO military forces right up to Russia's border, Russia took the necessary military action to neutralize the criminal Neocon threat. In summary: NATO's Neocon-driven criminal actions in seeking and preparing for the destruction of Russia provoked the NATO proxy war now destroying both the Ukraine ***and Europe***. Russia's pre-emptive defensive action was and continues to be totally justified. The US and Europe, driven by the Neocon takeover of their societies, with their populations gulled into support/acquiescence by the inevitable "perception management" -- ie propaganda -- identify unambiguously as the criminal perpetrators of the criminal war in Ukraine. And now that the "economic war" which the West/NATO sought to add to the military war, has backfired catastrophically, European societies are being destroyed economically. Everything about their prosperity, productivity, standard of living, and quality of life is being destroyed ... destroyed as comprehensively as would result from an all-out military assault across the continent. That is the truth. Now for the solution: Europe needs to come clean, admit the truth, indict the Neocons for their crime, take responsibility, and put and end to the crime. Essentially, Europe needs to ***CONFESS AND SURRENDER***. (I say "Europe", because the Neocons who control the US -- on the other side of an ocean and thus "safely" distant from "the scene of the crime" -- will never "surrender" no matter the destruction they wreak on the rest of the world. The rest of the world must therefor save itself.) As for Ukraine ... Ukraine must be shut down comprehensively and instantly. Terminate all support, instantly. Lay down the law. The Neocon murder of Ukraine must be acknowledged and ended. Zelensky must be identified as the Neocon criminal tool that he is and compelled to instantly announce -- on penalty of hypersonic death -- the unconditional surrender of all of Ukraine to the forces of the Russian Federation. A final note: I do not believe the above surrender will happen. Politics will prevent it. Europe will continue to commit economic suicide -- until domestic politics intervenes. And Russia will continue its military operation until it achieves unconditional surrender by the conventional method of total military conquest. This is a civilizational change. The old order is being swept away. Eventually, when the destruction becomes intolerable, the Neocons will be held to account. That is the inescapable pattern of history. Interesting times.
